An o-ring is a simple and versatile ring-shaped packing or sealing device with a circular cross section (from which the "O" in
its name is derived). The purpose of using O-ring seals is to prevent leakage and loss of liquids or gases. They simplicity,
convenience, and small installation space. As long as the groove design and material selection are correct, and the operating
conditions are within the temperature range of the rubber material, the seal can have a long-term sealing effect in the static
or dynamic seal.
The size of o-ring is determined by the inner diameter ID and the wire diameter CS. O-ring size calculation:
outer diameter = inner diameter + 2 x wire diameter (OD = ID + 2x CS).
O-Ring Advantages:

What's Each Rubber's Typical Features ?
Silicone O Rings.
1. Name: SIL/ Silicone/ VMQ
2. Raw Material supplier: "Dow Corning" and "Wacker"
3. Working Temp.: -60 ℃ to 230 ℃
4. Advantage:
Excellent resistance to Low temp. heat and elongation;
5. Disadvantage:
Bad performance to tear, abrasion, gas, and Alkaline
EPDM O Rings.

3. Working Temp.:-55 ℃ to 150 ℃
4.Advantage:Excellent resistance to Ozon ,Flame, Weathering.
5.Disadvantage:Poor resistance to Oxygen Ated-solvent
FKM O-rings.
FKM is a better grade compound which is well suited for prolonged exposure to oils at high operating
temperatures.
FKM is also good for steam applications. Operating temperature range is -20℃ to 220℃ and is manufactured
in black,white and brown. FKM is phthalate free and also available in metal detectable/x-ray inspectable.
Buna-N/ NBR/Nitrile O-rings.
1. Name: NBR / Nitrile/BUNA

3. Working Temp.: -25 ℃ to 100℃
4. Advantage:
Excellent resistance to oil and Low cost and wide usage.
5. Disadvantage:
Poor resistance to Oxygen Ated-solvent and Ozone.
